The Microtest Group, 80 million in turnover and specialized in test systems and in the testing of microchips on packages and silicon wafers, was selected by Agenzia Ice among the six exhibiting companies of the Italian Pavilion at Semicon Taiwan 2024, one of the main international fairs dedicated to the semiconductor and microelectronics industry.
During the three-day Taiwanese event, scheduled from 4 to 6 September 2024 in Taipei, the Microtest Group will present to the market a new device, the DS6 Pulsar, designed to test microchips intended, among others, for the automotive industry of electric vehicles, with a particular focus on stress test applications, for manufacturers of power semiconductors and for the testing of Wide Band Gap (WBG) devices based on technologies such as silicon carbide (SiC) and gallium nitride (GaN). These technologies are increasingly relevant in the ecological transition, thanks to their widespread use in new-generation batteries.
During the fair, the Group signed an agreement for the distribution of its products and services in Taiwan with Pomme Technology. The signature reinforces the dimensional growth and international development strategy launched in 2022 by the Xenon Private Equity fund, which aims to make Microtest the point of reference in Europe for the creation of test systems, the microchip testing service on packages and on silicon wafers and the chip design (ASIC)
“Microtest
continues its internationalization path also in Taiwan, a primary interlocutor
in the global semiconductor panorama. The new distribution agreement will allow
us to strengthen our presence on one of the most important Asian markets in
terms of production volumes, while participation in international fairs such as
SEMICON shines the spotlight on Italian expertise, attracting the attention of
potential partners and customers and thus contributing to the growth and
sustainability of the semiconductor sector. Public support, combined with
private innovation, is essential to face future challenges and maintain a
competitive advantage”, stated Giuseppe Amelio, CEO of the Microtest Group.
